2024
Today, the family tradition continues as Hajiya's, an innovative brand shaped by the same unique philosophy which supports high quality, good prices and good causes. We are committed to delivering a sense of pleasure to anyone who walks through our doors or shops with us online.
2022
Like all great exercises in creation, Hajiya's began with light. After many years in the making, as we relaunch Hajiya’s, we introduced GOOD, as our way to continue giving back. This time we are getting more people involved in what was once private charity work.
1997
Such is our dedication to premium quality food that in 1997, we brought our food brand to a small store in Europe, which quickly grew into a small chain. Therefore, it was with great precedent that almost two decades later, the brand established itself in a foreign market. We were famous for being the only chain of its kind in the city, serving the needs of travellers which included students from Africa, South America, Korea, and China - as well as professionals and other people in diaspora. Our passion for premium quality African and South American food, at the time won our stores great popularity which brought some media attention and got us invites to cook on national TV.
1993
The biggest innovation in our activities was taking place and we needed some commercial vehicles. We experienced great difficulty getting hold of one and needed to import it from Europe. Around the same time, we were approached to supply a well-known dealer with a range of high demand vehicles for business, so Vivian Igeze, who was quite the entrepreneur launched VivyStan - an arm of the family business which supplied commercial vehicles - it proved a last-second race to market, after more than 5 years in development and was a great success.
1986
A fashion chain was born. Then the only brand of it's kind in its locality, it was popular for being one of the first importer of 'Peka' shoes and accessories. The fashion brand sold products made by artisans of Italy.
GIVING BACK
A pool of people: Before 1975, an informal charity set up by Vivian Igeze was always in motion, to help anyone who needed some assistance. As we grew, we expanded a direct channel for meeting with more of the less privileged who had always been a drive for what we do.
1986
Life has always moved at a breakneck pace at Hajiya’s, and so after 10 years of trading, for a short time, we brought African & South American food to the European market. Without a store, we supplied established stores with premium quality African and South American food.
1985
The success of the yoghurt factory, bakery and beauty salon businesses encouraged an expansion - we launched a gold business, specialising in jewellery. The jewellery company had been the leading provider in gold accessories and a supplier for local dignitaries.
1984
Our strategecially positioned beauty salons gained popularity immediately. One of a kind, the salons were located in a popular hotel and in a city where they enjoyed coveting from the media, dignitaries, and customers alike.

Established in 1975, Hajiya’s is a family business. Founded by Vivian Jemila Igeze, Its first store and factory manufactured fresh premium quality yoghurt, cakes and other baked goods, in Kano.
